Countless people have helped make an unforgettable summer for me in Turkiye. Though I cannot cover everyone (that’d be impossible!), I want to call out a few friends who I am so grateful to have met (or reconnect with) this summer.
Gözde and Nur from the Foreign Economic Relations team at the Ministry of Treasury. Thank you ladies for a great summer!
Friends from the Economic Research team at the Ministry of Treasury. Thank you for being so welcoming and generous! (Hakan is to my right!)
Yasemin and Dolunay from the Economic Research department in the Ministry of Treasury. Thank you for being so supportive. And congratulations to Dolunay and Burak on your marriage!
Mr. Ibrahim (MPP, 2010) Mr. Fatih Bozkurt (MPA/ID 2011) Juan, and me over Iftar dinner at Firinci Orhan in Cukurambar. Thank you for making a summer in Turkey possible for us!
Dear Sanem and me. This gem of a lady will visit Boston in the fall. Ya’ll can meet her then!
Thank you Sanem and Feyza (both lawyers at the Turkish Capital Markets Board) for wonderful conversations, meals, and for answering all of my questions about Ankara 🙂 And of course, Juan — stay out of trouble throughout the rest of your summer travels!
While my dear friend Ünal and I were hanging out on top of the Ankara Castle, a photographer who happened to be there asked if he could snap a few photos of us. This is one of those that this unknown photographer took. Thank you!
Hakan’s dear mother invited me to her home on a Friday night for Turkish tea and delicious sweets. She gave me this beautiful scarf!
Latasha Wilson (my roommate from Vienna!) and I had a mini weekend reunion in Istanbul. This photo was shot in Taksim Square. Thank you, Tasha, and Ozan for a wonderful weekend! (Note the young policemen hanging out behind us)
This is a photo of Anita and me in Ephesus…we spent a really fun (and really HOT) summer together. Good luck at GSB!
Thank you, beauitful Merve for the perfect ladies weekend in Istanbul!
